1550 Main Street - Springfield, MA

 For the conversion of this downtown former courthouse to offices with ground floor retail, it was imperative to have an inviting, dynamic plaza that improved curb appeal and circulation. The design was constrained by an existing underground garage below the plaza. Undulating expanses of raised lawn, kept low for visibility, create a green streetscape, define circulation to the new retail spaces, and provide room
for a generous area for café tables and chairs. New lighting and wide paver bands
accentuate the path to the main door.
